Introducing the advisors that help guide and inspire Caravelo’s growth

Caravelo has been growing steadily since its inception and has taken advantage of the “new normal” created by the pandemic to accelerate this growth. The journey has not been easy and would not have been possible without one of our best assets.

Advice that makes a difference

We are not, of course, talking about a secret recipe hidden in a vault, but of something that rarely gets mentioned and primarily operates behind the scenes: our team of advisors.

Caravelo’s advisors are people with a wealth of experience in different areas of the travel and technology world. They help our management team make the right decisions and provide a space for constructive conversations on the challenges of growing a travel tech company.

Today, we would like to introduce you to some of them:

Steven Greenway is an experienced aviation and loyalty executive. With a focus on startups, he brings invaluable experience to Caravelo which he developed at Peach, Scoot, reward-U, and, more recently, as EVP of WestJet and President of the ULCC, Swoop.

While working at Scoot, he became one of Caravelo’s first customers and continued working with us across multiple airlines. As our CEO Iñaki puts it:

“Having Steven on board as an advisor is a testament to the strength of our products and represents the culmination of a great journey.”

Barbara Cassani brings a unique blend of travel leadership experience that spans global carriers, LCCs, and hotels. She is well known for her focus on growth, emphasizing the importance of employees and customers. Her priority is to help Caravelo grow by acting as an internal advisor and working closely with our co-founders.

Javier Perez-Tenessa is well known in the travel industry for being the co-founder and former CEO of eDreams ODIGEO, as well as one of the founding partners of 4Founders Capital and he is currently the non-executive director of the board at lastminute.com group. He brings to Caravelo an in-depth understanding of the travel tech space and his unique first-hand experience in growing a travel technology business.

The road ahead

The future is bright for Caravelo. This week, one of our customers launched the first monthly flight subscription in EMEA. Last week, we announced Alex Cruz had invested and joined our board of directors, and, a few days earlier, we celebrated hiring our 40th team member.

More people will join our team in the next few weeks, and our client list is growing quickly, with some important announcements expected over the next few months, including the launch of flight subscriptions for several key industry players across the globe.

None of this would have been possible without our advisors and all the people that support Caravelo as investors or board members, believing in us even before this latest stage of company growth. Follow this space for more updates.
