Back in March 2016 there was fanfare and excitement as KLM launched the first chatbot on messenger for airlines. A great step forward, but little in the way of really meaningful utility. Since then there have been a number of soft launches, hyped POC’s and more and more conversation surrounding the potential of this technology.

So now in mid-2017, can chatbots really add value to an airline?
